Walter Freeman’s “Lobotomobile” that he toured around the country in the 60’s to promote his adapted lobotomy procedure. No, he did not call his camper the “Lobotomobile,” that was coined later by his critics. His version of the procedure came to be known as the “ice pick” lobotomy. It could be done in under 10 minutes and would be used on thousands of people, some as young as 4 years old. While Freeman WAS a neurologist, he never had surgical training.
